BREAKING NEWS: NYSC INTRODUCE MONTHLY BIO-METRIC CLEARANCE TO CHECK GHOST MEMBERS.

The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has introduced a biometric technology for the corps members’ monthly clearance in South West, a development that will expose those who absent themselves from their places of primary assignment.

The Director General of NYSC, Brig-Gen Suleiman Kazure who stated this in Ibadan at the opening ceremony of the training workshop on Biometric Clearance of Corps Members in Local Government Areas in SouthWest with the theme "Ensuring Accountability in Corps members activities using ICT, said that biometric technology will not only address absenteeism during service year but will also address the problems of irregular signatures leading to non-payment of monthly allowance, and poor collation and storage of data of corps members.

The training was organised for all heads of corps inspection and monitoring branches, ICT desk officers, zonal and local government inspectors of the South-West.

Kazure, who was represented by NYSC Director of Corps Welfare, Mrs Victoria Okakwu said, "This new process has received great ovation from the public for its positive impact in areas such as elimination of sharp practices perpetuated by fraudulent individuals and reduction of errors in our data and workload on our staffs, corps memners and other stakeholders.

"Furthermore, the improvement on the new process also brought about the introduction of the use of biometrics for mobilisation and registration of corps members at orientation camps which has not only helped in fast tracking the process, but also reduced impersonation and registration in prozy including ineligible graduates."

Kazure noted that the feedback from the North West zone, South East zone and the two pilot locations of Lagos and Abuja had been very encouraging and positive, adding that he believed that South West zone will also be successful.

He said the training was organised to give participants the requisite knowledge in the IT-based clearance and monitoring of corps members to eliminate the practices of payment of allowances to corps members who are not on ground to serve their father land.

The NYSC boss urged all official of the scheme to shun any act that may be detrimental to the success of the innovation.

In her speech, the NYSC Director of ICT, Mrs Christy Uba said the biometric module was designed to embrace adequate monitoring and monthly clearance of Corps members.

According to her, it keeps record of absenteeism, checkmates truancy, impersonation and other vices which tends to undermine the aims and objectives of the scheme.

These 5 people may cause Nigeria’s break-up

These 5 people may cause Nigeria’s break-up
The incumbent government of President Muhammadu Buhari is still relatively young. The leader of the nation is battling vigorously with such monsters as corruption, insurgency and many others.

However, things that bordered on human arrogance, corruption, total disrespect for rule of law, insurgency and many other evils can tear Nigeria apart.
There are also several powerful people who could spoil all Buhari’s efforts by their controversial activities in different parts of Nigeria.
The Federal Republic of Nigeria, as it is known today, has never really been one homogeneous country, for its widely differing peoples and tribes.
At independence Nigeria became a federation and remains the one country. Soon afterwards the battle to consolidate the legacy of political and military dominance of a section of Nigeria over the rest of the federation began with bigger passion. About 50 years ago Nigeria was nearly divided by the bloody Civil War that broke out on July 6, 1967, and led to the deaths of over a million people.
Below are the five people who are fighting for the soul of Nigeria with the central government at the expense of millions of residents who just want an opportunity to live their lives quietly.
5. President Muhammadu Buhari
These 5 people may cause Nigeria’s break-up
Buhari makes the list only because he is the leader of the nation and his actions or inactions could push Nigeria over the edge or become the messiah, as many predicted, and save the country from the imminent disaster posed by the people mentioned below.
The president’s manner of tackling the controversial prisoners of Nigeria could go a long way to define if the situation would be worsened or buried and forgotten.
However, if Buhari wants to keep Nigeria united he should ensure that the rights of these men are protected while also figuring out the ways on how to stop the conflicts in the country.
For example, Nnamdi Kanu is both Nigerian and British, and the UK has already rose questions over his continual detention. Sheikh El-Zakzaky has Iran’s support because he preaches their type of religion, the Shia Islam.
4. Tompolo (Government Ekpemupolo)
These 5 people may cause Nigeria’s break-up
Tompolo was a prominent figure in the Niger Delta militancy that besieged the oil-producing country in the mid-2000s.
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission is currently accusing Tompolo of corruption.
The arrest warrant for the former Niger Delta warlord coincided with the resumption of attacks in the region.
Armed with more money than ever to purchase even more weapons than before, Tompolo could pose a real danger to Nigeria quickly should the situation deteriorate any further in the south- south.
Before the Niger Delta Amnesty Programme, his name drove fear into the hearts of many as he and his cohorts terrorized the creeks of the south-south region.
3. Goodluck Jonathan
These 5 people may cause Nigeria’s break-up
Ex-president Goodluck Jonathan has left the power as the national hero. He is currently getting many awards from the global community, recall his recognition in the USA and in Switzerland.
Jonathan has been visiting many strategic pro-democracy institutions where he had been invited to share his experience in office as the promoter of democracy and the advocate of good governance in Africa.
However, his government left many questions unanswered. For instance, the biggest scandal that currently rocks the country is fake purchase of the arms to fight the deadly Boko Haram sect.
The further anti-graft agency digs into the scam, the more Jonathan’s men are implicated and indicted.
These fake deals reportedly caused thousands of deaths in the country in the hands of terrorists.
What Jonathan decides to do next – to stay the hero or to reclaim the power by all means – will determine his role in the unity of Nigeria.
2. Sheikh Ibrahim El-Zakzaky
These 5 people may cause Nigeria’s break-up
Ibrahim El-Zakzaky, the leader of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria, is another powerful man with his finger practically on the activation button. Shiites' leader was the one who introduced the Shia Muslim practice into Nigeria from Iran over 30 years ago. Before then, Nigeria had only Sunni Muslims.
He controls a part of the Muslim population in the north and is so powerful that his religious procession or convoy has right of way above anyone. He could not even be controlled by law enforcement agencies. Residents of Kaduna state, where El-Zakzaky used to be based, have many times lamented about the disturbances the sheikh and the members of his sect cause.
While at the moment, his location remains unknown after a bloody clash with the military in Zaria on December 12-13, 2015, which left hundreds dead his followers wait for his return patiently.
1. Nnamdi Kanu
These 5 people may cause Nigeria’s break-up
Of all the people on this list, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) group and the director of the "Radio Biafra" pirate radio station, Nnamdi Kanu, is, perhaps, the most influential at the moment.
Nigeria's secret police arrested Kanu, on October 17, 2015. He lives in London but often travels to Nigeria and was reportedly apprehended in Lagos. Kanu leads the IPOB, a secessionist group supporting the revival of the Biafran state and independence from Nigeria. Since his arrest, pro-Biafran protesters have organised marches in southeastern Nigeria, demanding Kanu's release and calling for the independence of the Biafran territories.
Kanu is calling for the people of the south-east to mobilise and fight for the creation of the state of Biafra. He argues that the Igbos are not properly catered for by the federal government.

The Nigeria Police Force on Friday called on Innocent ‘TuFace’ Idibia and others planning an anti-government protest for February 6 to immediately shelve the plan.
In a statement issued late Friday from the Force Headquarters in Abuja and signed by police spokesman, Jimoh Moshood,  the police said there was credible intelligence that the demonstration could turn violent.
“Innocent Idibia (a.k.a Tuface) and his group are hereby strongly advised to shelve their planned peaceful protest/demonstration in the interest of peace and security,” the police said.
Mr. Idibia called a “massive nationwide protest” about two weeks ago,  citing government’s alleged inaction in the face of worsening economic crisis in the country.
The police first said they would support the match, then changed their mind on the grounds that the rally could turn violent.
Several pro-democracy groups and activists have already pledged to join the protest organised by Tuface, one of Nigeria’s most popular musicians.
However, the police said they were in ‎”possession of credible intelligence reports that other interest groups are equally planning to hold a counter protest/matches on the same days at the same places/cities as the Tuface Group.”

Germany Launches Transparent Car (Photos)

Germany Launches Transparent Car + Photos
The world has changed and moving at a very fast pace to catch up with the future cars drive themselves and plane flight without human pilots.
The big question among automakers is whether they will be the ones to provide new technologies — and profit from them — or will major tech companies like Google and Apple take a slice of the industry. For now, the two sides are balancing cooperation against competition as they gauge what the future holds.
General Motors CEO Mary Barra succinctly expressed a common view, asserting that “we will see more change in the industry in the next five to 10 years than we have in the last 50.”
Germany Launches Transparent Car (Photos)
Dieter Zetsche, the head of Daimler AG, described the car and technology companies as being “frenemies.”
If Apple or Google starts making cars — something neither has said it intends to do — “then we are competitors.” New technologies could lead to all sorts of innovations, such as real-time navigating around a slippery stretch of road and eliminating the need for a home garage by having cars drive themselves to people who summon them through a mobile app.
Another technology that is fast making the new is this transparent car of ZF company equipped with different security systems is presented on the second press day of the Frankfurt Auto Show IAA Frankfurt, Germany.
